Singing with us
Threading Voices is a welcoming singing space for adults. You don’t need a particular kind of voice or any previous singing experience.
Threading Voices might be for you if you…
- Love singing, or feel curious about it.
- Miss singing with other people—or have never had the chance.
- Enjoy harmony and the feeling of voices coming together.
- Want to make music for the pleasure of it, rather than in preparation for a performance.
- Would like to explore your voice without the pressure of auditions, solos or perfection.
- Would welcome some time away from achieving, organising and looking after everyone else.
- Enjoy learning by ear and encountering songs from different cultures and traditions.
- Would like to meet people through a meaningful shared activity.
There’s time to listen as you learn, pick up the song and find your way in.
You don’t need to…
- Read music.
- Have sung in a choir before.
- Think of yourself as “a singer”.
- Sing on your own.
- Feel confident.
- Have what you consider a “beautiful” voice.
- Be “good enough”.
Phone free space
Threading Voices is a chance to set aside everyday distractions and be present with the people and music around us. We keep sessions phone-free, so please switch your phone off or put it on silent and leave it tucked away.
Please don’t take photographs or make video or audio recordings. This helps everyone join in freely, without wondering whether they are being recorded. We really appreciate your help with this.
Come as you are. Bring the voice you have today.
